05 May Jessica and Malcolm Mabaso Wedding
True love is magical. Jessica and Malcolm’s wedding was magical. When best friends marry each other it is all about love, blessings and celebration of family. The day was filled with laughter, music, great food and incredible entertainment.
This is a unique wedding story as we only got to work on this wedding for two weeks. Due to unforeseen circumstances this couple was let down by their wedding planner and with a wedding date fast approaching we had to work fast to bring this wedding up to speed. Luckily, the couple and their family were helpful, decisive and a pleasure to work with. We even got to work with our competition Cafe Fleur who were contracted to decorate the wedding months before we met the couple. Hats off to Chantelle and her team for creating a stunning setting for the reception with changes made only a week earlier. There were last minutes intricacies and adjustment all around but even at the 11th hour, we were ready.
On the day of the wedding there was magical atmosphere in the bridal suite. A gorgeous gown and a spectacular pair of Manolo Blahnick complemented Jessica’s radiant beauty. And the bridal party looked exquisite in their blush pink bespoke dresses.
The ceremony was filled with touching and beautiful moments. The couple could not stop smiling – this is true love!
The cocktail hour was set int he garden with a striking marquee and comfortable yet stylish couches set up for the guests to relax, listen to music, enjoy the gourmet braii and soak up the balmy April sun. The atmosphere reached a great hight when Rolls Royce Ghost brought the couple back from their photo session to the drumming and dancing of Zulu entertainers.
The reception was a major highlight. Elegant florals, bespoke cake display, romantic lighting played a part in blowing the guests away. Taste Explosion impressed everyone with the sumptuous dinner they prepared for the guests. The surprise act by Monique Bingham created a buzz and her flawless vocals mesmerised everyone present.
The first dance was magical as the couple glided across the dance floor followed by the carefully timed bridal party members joining in the Michael Jackson medley which ended with a boom of the confetti cannons… and then the party started!
Beyond beautiful bridal party, three bridal dress changes, traditional Zulu emphasis, laughter and superb entreatment were the highlight of this wedding. The Splendid Team thanks this couple for making us a part of their celebration, it was a pleasure Mr and Mrs Mabaso!
